Rumpke pick up day



Service includes the weekly collection of six 35-gallon cans or bags or two Rumpke 95-gallon trash carts. Cans or bags should not exceed 50 lbs. Collection also includes the collection of one properly prepared large item like furniture, appliances or mattresses at the curb each week, at no additional cost. See large item section for additional information.

Trash and recycling must be placed at the curb the night before your scheduled collection, as collection may occur early in the morning. Drivers may not be 
able to return to residence if materials are unprepared at collection time. Please place trash inside cans or bags. Cardboard boxes should be broken down, bundled and stacked neatly at the curb.

According to federal law, Rumpke is not permitted to accept batteries, tires, liquids, combustible materials or any items identified as hazardous. Bulky materials including drywall, concrete, bricks, dirt or rocks are not acceptable.

Loose shrubbery or lumber must be bundled and tied in lengths no larger than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. Bundles should not exceed 50 pounds.



Large Items
Please contact Rumpke at least 24-business hours before your regularly scheduled collection day to request a large item pickup (furniture, appliances, 
televisions, etc.) and to review how to properly prepare material. Mattresses, box springs and upholstered furniture must be wrapped and sealed in plastic prior to collection. Freon must be properly removed by a certified professional, prior to collection. Visit www.rumpke.com for additional details.



Trash Carts
Rumpke offers heavy-duty, 95-gallon trash carts to use for $2.50 per month. The trash carts are designed to work with Rumpke trucks and hold as much material as three standard trash cans. The carts feature wheels for easy mobility and a lid to help contain material. To use a cart, call Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171 or email southern.market@rumpke.com. Holidays
Rumpke observes Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day. If your service falls on or after these holidays, collection will be delayed one day that week. Visit www.rumpke.com for additional details.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  If your trash is missed due to weather conditions such as ice, snow, flooding etc., be assured your trash will be picked up on your next pickup day.  There will be no credit issued due to these circumstances as your trash will be picked up only a week later.  We realize this may be an inconvenience.  We nor Rumpke can control these conditions.

Recycling Reminders:

Recycling is collected weekly. Residents can place up to four 18-gallon bins at the curb for collection. 
The following items are accepted in Rumpke’s curbside recycling program:

  • Paper - No plates, cups, napkins, or paper towels.

  • Bottles and Jugs - Lids OK if reattached to empty bottle.

  • Glass Bottles and Jars - Metal lids OK if detached from bottle.

  • Cans - Cans must be empty, no paint cans.

  • Cartons - Remove lids & straws.
